Abstract

Project development is the traditional vehicle for driving transformation and managing change within organizations. However, the assessment of project results and the definition of success are often subjective and vary significantly across industries, as well as within the same sector. This heterogeneity complicates objective comparisons and the development of generalizable value metrics. This study aims to characterize and propose a general mechanism for evaluating the project success function, specifically for application in the technology sector. By analyzing studies from the last two decades, with an emphasis on the most recent decade, this research aims to formulate a function or set of functions that describe project success based on identified Critical Success Factors (CSFs), thereby reducing the subjectivity inherent in its evaluation.
