Abstract

This research investigates the role of Hollywood in advancing U.S. foreign policy goals in the Middle East through cinematic narratives. Employing a grounded theory approach, the study systematically applies open, axial, and selective coding methodologies to analyze a corpus of Hollywood films depicting the region. Through iterative abstraction and categorization, the study identifies key thematic elements such as democracy promotion, security initiatives, cultural diplomacy, and American values portrayed in these films. Findings highlight Hollywood's significant influence in shaping global perceptions, promoting cultural exchange, and supporting U.S. diplomatic strategies. The study recommends future research focusing on ethical filmmaking practices, longitudinal impact studies, and policy integration to optimize Hollywood's potential as a tool for diplomatic objectives in the region.
