In-Depth Analysis of the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Academia: A Balanced Approach to AI Integration in Academic Institutions in Jordan

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most transformative technologies, reshaping numerous sectors, including academia. This research aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the impact of AI on academic institutions in Jordan, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into higher education. The study seeks to strike a balance between harnessing the immense potential of AI and addressing associated challenges, such as ethical concerns and its influence on student and faculty performance.
The research adopts a balanced approach, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods to explore the topic comprehensively. Data will be collected through surveys and interviews with faculty members and students at Jordanian universities to understand their perspectives on the integration of AI into the learning process. Additionally, current educational policies will be analyzed to evaluate the readiness of academic institutions to adopt AI technologies.
Expected outcomes of the study include identifying the positive and negative aspects of AI application in academia, such as enhancing teaching and learning efficiency while addressing challenges like reduced human interaction and increased dependency on technology. The research will also provide practical recommendations to help universities in Jordan develop sustainable and ethical strategies for AI adoption.
This study aims to enrich the academic discourse on the future of higher education in light of technological advancements. Furthermore, it seeks to equip decision-makers in academia with a roadmap to leverage AI for improving educational quality while maintaining ethical and human-centered practices.
