Nowadays, when learning a foreign language, learners are offered numerous options. Offline classrooms, online classrooms, and mobile app learning are the learning methods chosen by foreign language learners. Understanding how each of the learning methods impacts learners’ learning experience. This pilot study aims to analyze and compare foreign language learners’ responses to three of the most popular learning methods: offline classrooms, online classrooms, and mobile app learning. A Likert-scale survey of 30 items was distributed to 50 participants of diverse backgrounds to analyze their opinions on their experiences and perceptions of the three learning methods. Based on their responses, participants who learned a new language through offline classrooms agree that the direct instructions they received during class helped with their language learning. Participants who chose online classrooms cited time flexibility and accessibility of resources as the factors that support their learning experience. Mobile app learners mentioned how repetition and gamified lessons provided by the application help increase their interest in learning a new language and help them understand basic conversations. With these results, this pilot study aims to provide more insight into understanding the participants’ viewpoints regarding the effectiveness of each learning method through their perceived language improvement.
