COVID-19 changed the education style from face-to-face to completely online and brought on many pedagogical research topics. This paper explains the practice of an online Chinese language course for the School of Engineering, Tokyo University of Technology (TUT) as a
research case, and investigates the characteristics of and problems in language teaching by examining the implementation status, contents, and effects of the online course.
