The Current State of Digital Educational Planning Practices in Public Schools in the State of Kuwait from the Perspective of Intermediate School Department Heads

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the current state of digital educational planning practices in public schools in the State of Kuwait from the perspective of department heads at the intermediate stage. The study adopted a descriptive correlational methodology. To achieve this objective, a questionnaire was used as the study instrument, consisting of one axis with 20 items. It was administered to an available sample (n = 200) drawn from a total population of 6,785 department heads in public schools.

The study concluded with several findings, most notably that the perceptions of the sample members—department heads in public education in the State of Kuwait—regarding the reality of digital educational planning practices and their domains were generally at a moderate level. Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were found among the overall mean scores attributable to the variables of gender, years of service, educational stage, or educational district.

The study recommended providing periodic training courses for teachers and department heads to enable them to use digital tools and employ them effectively in educational planning. It also called for the design of a unified national digital platform to facilitate communication, planning, assessment, decision-making and data management among educational administrations and schools.
