The Role of University Administration in Developing Leadership Skills among Kuwait University Students

Abstract

The aim of the current study is to identify the role of university administration in developing young student leadership at Kuwait University, as well as to examine the differences in the sample's responses based on the variables (academic year). To achieve the study's objectives, the researchers used the descriptive survey method through a questionnaire applied to a sample of (357) male and female students, selected using simple random sampling. The study found that the role of university administration in developing student leadership Skills at Kuwait University was at a moderate level. The results also showed statistically significant differences in the sample's responses based on the academic year variable, favouring first-year students. The study recommended the adoption of a comprehensive policy for managing student leadership talent that includes recruitment, training, and empowerment, while aligning it with the university’s strategic plans to support innovation and sustainable participation.
