Abstract

This paper examines the role of Islamic knowledge as a foundational basis for political renewal in the modern era, proposing a contemporary applied model rooted in authentic Islamic principles. Drawing on the Qur’an, Sunnah, and the classical Islamic intellectual heritage, it argues that the integration of Shariah objectives (Maqasid al-Shariah) into governance can produce systems that are both morally legitimate and practically effective. The study first outlines the conceptual foundations of Islamic political thought, identifying its ethical imperatives, justice-oriented frameworks, and emphasis on public welfare as critical components for addressing governance challenges. It then develops a model that bridges traditional principles with contemporary political structures, ensuring adaptability to diverse social contexts. By employing comparative analysis, historical precedents, and modern policy needs, the paper demonstrates that Islamic epistemology offers a dynamic and sustainable pathway for reform. The proposed model seeks to harmonize moral authority with institutional functionality, advancing a governance paradigm capable of responding to evolving societal demands.
