Ven. Fa Fang and Sri Lankan Buddhism

Abstract

This thesis will focus on Ven. Fa Fang and Sri Lankan Buddhism to study from four aspects, they are: (1) the connections of Ven. Fa Fang and Sri Lankan Buddhists; (2) his study and exchange in Sri Lanka; (3) his observation and understanding of Sri Lankan Buddhism; and (4) his contributions to Sri Lankan Buddhism; (5) his influence on Sri Lankan Buddhism. Through a comprehensive study of Ven. Fa Fang and Sri Lankan Buddhism to demonstrate his achievements and contributions to Sri Lankan Buddhism impacted Sri Lankan monks and their Buddhism, especially in the aspects of Buddhist education and the extension of international Buddhist activities. Meanwhile, it promotes the further exchange between China-Sri Lankan Buddhism and the Buddhist revival in the 20^th century of China.
