English for Specific Purposes: The Occupational English Test
Keywords:
The OET challenging, life changing stressfulAbstract
The Occupational English Test has been around since 1988 when a test of English for health professionals was authored by Tim McNamara, Monash University, Melbourne. Overseas-qualified health professionals seeking to settle in an English-speaking country, who have gained their qualifications in a language other than English, are required to pass an IELTS Academic test, a Pearson Test of English, or the Occupational English test, however, the OET is not for the faint-hearted as it is a high-stakes test, a pass in which is life changing.
